Because today, while doing some research for my 6th grade Social Studies students, I ran across a very interesting fact.
Fidel Castro has a blog.
Now, I haven't actually been able to track down his actual blog, just articles discussing things that he has posted in his blog. Andy has advised me to not get too close to the blog and end up on some kind of government no fly list.
But I can't get this image out of my head. Now, I know that he has been ill, and is not technically in power anymore in Cuba (I'm not going to lie, that is what I had to look up. I couldn't remember if he was dead or alive). In my classroom, we have been talking about the differences between Monarchies, Democracies and Dictatorships. Those are the three forms of government the state of Ohio thinks my students should know. We had a lot of fun pretending to be monarchs, dictators and presidents and running our own little countires. We used extreme examples of dictators who have certainly NOT used their powers for good (I wouldn't want to offend any of the nice dictators out there) to discuss what life could be like.
Had I known that famous and scary dictators blogged, we could have written blog entries. Can you imagine? What do you write about? What if Hitler had a blog?
Dear Blog,
This morning I met once again with my advisors for our annual "we hate everyone who isn't like us" bruncheon. We discussed the best way to kill them, and how we should make our soldiers practice our stiff-legged walk more since some of the soldiers are looking sloppy.
Also, I know this is going to sound wild, but I'm thinking of losing the mustache. Maybe grow a full goatee, or maybe a beard? I started a poll at the top, please vote!

And my other current googling scavenger hunt. . .how are my babies going to be positioned in my belly? I know that with a singleton you usually carry higher and then drop towards the end, with twins where do they go? We found a twin message board last night that had some scary looking belly shots. I think Andy might be scarred for life. Does the length or width of my belly depend on their positioning? What are my options? I can only imagine based on one of the pictures that one of the babies was holding onto the other's ankles and then they were both stretched straight out towards the belly button.
I'm getting a little scared!

Blogs are amazing aren't they? What did we do before them? I can tell you I had a lot more time on my hands before getting hooked up with blogs. Wonder if the Queen of England has a blog.

The thought of those guys blogging is at once hilarious and very disturbing. I don't want to know what Hitler would want to tell an anonymous group of readers - altho he wouldn't be anonymous, as he (and all dictators) was a megalomaniac.
Yeah, we should probably google Castro's blog at the library. Don't want to get a black mark on us!
I don't know why but I just had this vision of Hitler or Castro blogging with pink fuzzy bunny slippers on. Ha ha!

Hello, I have been following your blog and congrats on your pregnancy. Blogs are really great and can be used for gread purposes... infertility being one of them.
BTW, if you are interested, there are vlogs (video logs) on www.youtube.com There is a woman who had ivf done over seas. I believe in the Czech Republic. She had the procedure done earlier this year. She is now pregnant with twins and her stomach is humungous. I believe her due date is in December.
If you are interested, her vlog is under medicluvstrauma. Just type it in and her blogs will come up week by week, her nursery, her baby shower, ultrasounds and the like. She is really sweet too, if you email her she will respond.
Just thought I would share. Best wishes and although you are a complete stranger to me, I am really happy for you. Infertility is really rough and to see someone progress forward it makes you feel really warm inside.
Now you have me curious and I am going to be spending my evening looking at pictures of bellies with multiples.
