The First Day

I am not going to say much, just post what I have.  The first day went better than I expected.  No tears from any of us.  They happily hopped on the bus, went off on their way, and this morning at the start of week 2, they are still happy to go.  Success, so far!

Maggie has made a friend named Chloe who has a peanut allergy.  She is so proud that she gets to sit with her at the Peanut table, and I talked to her about how she would be a great friend to someone who had allergies.  She can watch for any signs of a reaction, and won't judge a bit for those allergies.

Ben talked one day about "the boy who wore a blue shirt, all day."  Turns out his name is Ethan, he is kind, and also likes minions.  Good job Ben!

This is supposed to be a picture post, so here we go!

The first official documented signatures.  They asked about what they were signing, but I am pretty sure that they won't be doing anything inappropriate on the computers at school.

First day photos on the back deck = success!  Oh my gosh, I never thought of the back, our front door is ridiculously bright for pictures, and this spot was perfect.

I didn't plan this.  She was "wooking for the school bus" to bring her friends home.  Melt.
