A professional I am not.
This year, I was searching out a new project when Project 52 came to light. A Project 52 sounds a little more like what I want, one photo a week, and the group I went with is going through the alphabet twice. So instead of trying to come up with a photo every day, it is one a week, and I can be creative with my letters. If I can keep up with this blog a little better, I will try to get my weekly photo into the blog within the time frame. We'll see. At the end of the year, I might try to put them into a photo book with an ABC theme.
Here's my first two letter entries.
A is for (what else) Amelia. Or maybe awesome accessory.
B is for Ben. But this Ben is Blurry, so B is also for Balloon
As usual, I have more photos. You know I won't just be posting my weekly photos.
At some point I had mentioned to my Mom how I was starting to understand why people match their kids who aren't twins. I found myself coordinating all of them, or just the girls, and for Christmas they got several matching shirts. So cute. Maggie is getting difficult to photograph because she makes these weird faces when you ask her to smile. Like this one.
New Year's Eve we had a traditional fondue. Mia joined us, and I covered her with a towel so no hot cheese was dripped on the baby, I promise. Kind of different from our fondue other years. The kids loved the bread and veggies, but wouldn't touch the cheese part. At some point I had mentioned to my Mom how I was starting to understand why people match their kids who aren't twins. I decided at like 9 that Mia really needed to be photographed like the New Year's Baby, but I had no props. For some reason some kind of Flapper ensemble came to mind, so this ensemble was born.
We had a wild toddler party, it was great that we were able to get all the cousins together to ring in the new year.
There were toasts and kissing at midnight. I love the look on Ben's face in this one. He wiped his face off after and said "Yech!". Too funny. We had a little dance party. Notice that Maggie had decided that proper party attire included her purple fairy outfit.
Mia was happy way too long that night. She was up several hours after everyone left while Andy and I were ringing in the new year by getting ready for a showing on January 2nd.
I took this picture thinking it could be an A for Assembly Line, or Askew, or something. I love finding their toys in different ways when I hadn't been watching it happen. They play with the kitchen stuff all the time, but this day they must have been preparing food for a lot of people.
The many faces of Ben. This guy cracks me up. He has been so funny lately, so talkative, so sweet. Don't get me wrong, he can still throw one hell of a temper tantrum, but man, do I love that boy. Lately, he is wanting to involve me in things. Tonight, at bedtime, I had gone back downstairs to finish dinner while Andy was giving them a bath and getting into pajamas. He came downstairs and when I was questioning why, he said "Because I want you to be upstairs." I told him to go up, I would be up in a minute, and he said "No, I stay here. I will watch you eat. . . .are you done yet?"
Maggie insisted on accessories this day (the one on top is a monkey if you were wondering) and actually let me put her hair up. With her short haircut and cute new pajamas, she looked to me like a college student. So grown up.
You can tell his Mommy also takes a lot of pictures.
We had a multiples playdate with 7 kids. This is all the twins at one table. They actually did a great job.
We finally bought some real playdough. They loved it. Like, concentrated for a long time so Mommy could clean up the kitchen, loved it. One can of playdough, one plastic knife, and they were both fascinated. Now we need some of those fun cutters, and the thing that makes it look like spaghetti.
Miss Mia, I was playing around with my camera. It's a little blurry, but look at those big brown eyes.
We had her at the table one day and it was so neat, so strange to have all three kids at the kitchen table.
Big Brother Ben, they do such a good job entertaining Mia most days. Ben even asked for her in the bathtub the other night, and told me the next time that he wasn't going to get out all the toys so that she could be in the tub with them. So sweet.
This day the entertainment was bouncing on the couch. Mia loved it. I got the dishwasher emptied. Win win. I ignored the fact that we try to enforce a no jumping on the couch rule. It's not firm.
Happy Birthday Aunt Patti! They were so excited all day for her party. They knew I was making a cake that morning, and were so excited to bring it to their house. They love birthdays.
I LOVE this weird photo. I autofixed it in photshop, but it was really just a result of my flash not firing. Look at that face though! He was helping to blow out the candles. I have been draining the batteries so fast on my Speedlight, I think I need rechargables.
So new year, new project, new adventures. Same subjects, same sweetness, same love.
Be ready for a whole new year of the back of these heads.
Happy New Year!
